Day 73

There was a full lunar eclipse that hit totality between 1:30-2:30am this morning.  I figured that if I got up at 2am, I would get some sleep before and after and see the eclipse. I decided that I would go for a 45 minute walk at 2am to the lake and see what I could see! Then I could sleep in later since I would already have my 1st workout done! It worked pretty well. The moon was tiny way up overhead and the cell phone doesn’t do it justice.

Being outside and walking around at 2am was a weird experience. Lots of houses had interior lights on but I only saw 1 other person out. I saw quite a few police (more than during the day for sure) and some other cars. Otherwise it was uneventful.

I ended up being more tired than I thought but made it through the day. This afternoon I went to the concussion clinic and got some exercises for my eyes. My left eye is a little off and the hope is that with some exercises I can strengthen it and reduce the headaches while working out.

When I got home I couldn’t decide what my workout should be. It was also 74f so quite nice. I ended up going for a relaxed pace bike ride. And got a headache from it.

Day 69

Another weekly Vault workout. This one had running and Manmakers. I obviously couldn’t run, so I walked half the distance. I probably shouldn’t have done the Manmakers, but I did then pretty slowly.  I definitely want to retest this one when I’m able to run. It will be rough!! In a good way!

This afternoon I went to the Chiropractor and got a lot out of my upper back and neck.  He also had some good insights about concussion recovery and talked about eye tracking and recovery.  I also was able to schedule my first appointment at the concussion clinic for this Friday!

It was in the mid-60’s for our afternoon walk today. Because of the adjustment I didn’t wear any weight. And we just soaked in the sun!

Day 66

Friday!! This morning I did the next Out in the Open workout- Stonewalling. The workout looked awesome, I was just bummed I had to modify the workout again. I had signed up for the Performance division and couldn’t do either movement!

It was wall walks and single unders! I was able to do the inchworms and mountain climbers in the Movement Division standards. Still a good workout!

Then I actually had a doctors appointment to check in about my concussion recovery. The doctor is a runner and totally understood my frustration about still not being able to workout like I want. He made a referral to the Concussion Clinic to see what suggestions they have.
