Day 27

I actually finished reading Tribe yesterday but forgot while I was writing my post. As I mentioned in the Day 23 post, it was part of Go Ruck’s boom club.

Overall, I liked the premise of the book, we all do better when we are connected to people around us and feel some shared goals/outcomes. He gave examples of how Western society looks down on more communal cultures, but how historically when given the chance people would prefer living in the communal “tribes”.

He gave several examples and a few times while reading I got bogged down in the examples and forgot the main point of the book/chapter.

It is a relatively easy read. And is actually timely as our communities and country are being fractured. We may be building groups of like-minded people, but ultimately the collective group of the USA is becoming more divisive which runs counter to a productive society.

Day 25

One third complete!

I did a Street Parking workout in the morning. Then we did other things and was out in the cold checking out the Art Shanty Project. It was tempting to just come home and relax into the couch. But I went out with 20# pack and did this week’s Tribe ‘N Training Ruck workout. My legs said I’ve done too much squatting! But it was a good extra challenge.

Day 17

I had to stop and go back for this pic on my way to work this morning! It had changed a little in the time it took me to stop and walk back. I loved the colors of the skyline and the lightening of the sky with the first light.

We made it to Friday! And a long weekend.

For my afternoon walk I switched it up and loaded a pack with my 12# vest and 2 – 10# plates. 32 pounds on my shoulders and back felt a lot different than just the vest! It was harder to get through the whole time but I made it the 2 miles!
