Race Results October 13

I posted my review of the Indianapolis (Half) Marathon. It was an amazing day to race. Be sure to let us know how your race went.

The Indianapolis Marathon was won by Erik Bush, 39 of Flora, IL, in 2:34:46 (5:54) about 2 minutes ahead of second place. Andrea Crapisi, 29 of Chicago, IL won the female division in 3:15:34 (7:27) about 1 minute ahead of second place and 47th overall. 1038 finished the full marathon. The Half-Marathon was won by Daniel Bretscher, 24 of Greencastle, IN, in 1:11:53 (5:29) about 6 minutes ahead of second place. Jennifer Henk, 31 of Indianapolis won the female division in 1:23:18 (6:21) about 6 minutes ahead of second place and 9th overall. 2017 finished the half-marathon. The 5K was won by Mitch Novy, 22 of Anderson, in 16:53 (5:26) about 5 seconds ahead of second place. Cecilia Beehler won the female division in 20:16 (6:31) about 1 minute ahead of second place and 15th overall. 422 finished the 5K.

The Norris Insurance 5 Miler (pdf) was won by Scott Colford, of Logansport, in 27:42 (5:32) about 4 minutes ahead of second place. Robyn Pagington, of Greentown, won the female division in 34:47 (6:57) about 5 minutes ahead of second place and 10th overall. 41 participants finished the run. Rick Spencer of Lucerne won the 5K walk in 31:13 and Mary Miller of Bunker Hill won the women’s division in 33:06.

Race Results for October 13

Hope everyone had a good weekend, it seemed like a great weekend to race.

Trinity Free Clinic 5K Run and Fitness Walk was won by John Schmitz in 17:29 (5:37) about 15 seconds ahead of second place.  Lucie Mays-Sulewski won the female division in 21:12 (6:49) about 10 seconds ahead of second place and 16th place overall. About 200 people competed in this event.

DINO Trail Run 5K & 15K #6 was won by Matt Sweetman in 59:12 (6:21) about 15 seconds ahead of second place.  Chikage Castle won the female division in 1:16:19 (8:11) about 40 seconds ahead of second place and 19th overall.  77 finished the 15K.  Ben Crockett won the 5K in 20:05 (6:27) about 30 seconds ahead of second place.  The first female was Monica Hodge in 25:09 (8:05) about 3 minutes ahead of second place and 22 overall.  74 completed the 5K event.

2007 Run for their Lives 1K & 7K was won by Marc Zolner in 25:47 (5:56) about 3 minutes ahead of second place.  Autumn Huse won the female division in 30:04 (6:55) about 25 seconds ahead of second place and 5th overall in the 7K. 79 runners completed the 7K.  In the 1K Desmond Herrell won in 5:12 (8:23) about 10 seconds ahead of Hannah Blystone who won the female division in 5:22 (8:39).  16 competed in the 1K.

Spotlight on Nursing 4 Miler was won by Jason Beehler in 22:07 (5:31) almost 2 minutes ahead of second place.  Stefanie Kesecker won the female division in a close race with Darala Barnett in 28:55 (7:14) just 2 seconds ahead.  They finished 22 and 23rd overall out of 229 finishers.

5th Annual Hot Pursuit 5K was won by Zack Whitkanack in 17:03 (5:29) and about a minute ahead of second place. Carla Yerkes won the female division in 20:50 (6:42) over 1:30 ahead of second place and 11th overall. 56 runners finished this event.

Lafayette Family YMCA Pumpkin Push 10k and 1 Mile Fun Run (pdf) was won by Seth Roberts in 36:44 (5:54) about 15 seconds ahead of second place.  Ryan Woolever won the female division in 41:03 about 3 minutes ahead of second place and 10th overall. 33 completed the 10K event.

Race Results from October 6

I could probably keep writing lots of stories and keep you updated about the latest news out of Chicago, but since the focus of this site is Central Indiana I won’t. Unless I get race reports from you or some other major news comes. So send me race reports! A final note I found out that the man who died Chad Schieber, of Michigan, was a 1994 graduate of Anderson University.

Sheridan Harvest 5K Run/Walk was won by John Parson, 25 of Indianapolis, in 16:12 (5:13) 12 seconds ahead of second place Mitch Novy. Laura Farley, 23 of Indianapolis, won the female division in 18:05 (5:49) almost 2 minutes ahead of second place and 9th place overall. 194 participants finished this event.

Monster Mash Dash 5 Mile Run/5K walk was won by Dustin Smith, 25 of Indianapolis in 30:19 (6:03) about 2 minutes ahead of second place. Heather Murdoch, 21 of West Lafayette, won the female division in 32:45 (6:33) just over 3 minutes ahead of second place and 3rd overall. 152 participants finished the 5 Mile event. Janet Higbie won the 5K Walk in 32:47 (10:33) and Michael Bird won the male division in 33:21 (10:44). 25 participants finished this event with 6 DQs.

Race for the Cure – Wabash Valley was won by Chad Smith, 32, in 17:44 (5:42) exactly one minute ahead of second place. Emily Cotterman won the female division in 20:25 (6:34) about 2 minutes ahead of second place. 199 participants finished this event.

Mel Henry 5 Mile Run was won by Dave Nordhielm in 30:06 (6:01) 6 seconds ahead of second place. It looks like Jolene Freeman won the female division in 40:22 (8:04) placing 11th overall. Twenty-eight participants finished this race.

5th Annual Freedom Run 5 Mile Run/3 Mile Walk was won by Don Baker and first place female was Leslie Muse. 50 participants finished this event.

4th Annual Evansville Half-Marathon was won by Jeffrey Powers in 1:13:21 (5:35) about 3 minutes ahead of second place. Tanya Hitch won the female division in 1:37:29 (7:26) 15 seconds ahead of second place and placing 60th overall. 1,626 participants finished this event with an average time of 2:32:20 (11:37).

Race Results Sept 29th

Turn Up the Volume to BLAST Ovarian Cancer was won by Mitch Novy, 22, of Anderson in 21:18 (5:19) about 50 seconds ahead of second place. Laura Farley, 23, of Indianapolis won the female division in 23:44 (5:56) about 1:15 ahead of second place and 4th overall. One hundred and thirty-two participated in this Tuxbro event for Ovarian Cancer.

8th Annual Hoosiers Outrun Cancer 5K was won by 23 year old George McArdle of Bloomington in 15:52 (5:06) just 8 seconds ahead of second place. Jessica Gall, 23, of Bloomington won the female division in 17:46 (5:43) about a minute ahead of second place and 6th place overall. One thousand, four hundred and ninety-three (1493) participants finished this Ken Long & Associates event to raise money for the Olcott Cancer Center.

Lungs for Life 5K was won by Sean Thompson in 16:48 (5:25) about 2:30 in front of second place. Dawn Drake won the female division in 20:05 (6:29) about 1:45 ahead of second place and 5th overall. One-hundred and three participants finished this race which was not posted on any local running calendars but raised money for Lung Cancer Research.

Putnam County Museum 4Mi Run/2Mi Walk was won by Michael Lutz, 20, in 25:24 (6:21) about a minute ahead of the second place male Danny Sexton, 51. Jessica Crowder,25, won the female division in 25:42 (6:25) about 1:45 ahead of second place and finished second overall. Thirty-five participants completed the 4 mile run.

Over the Weekend

Ashley Dale, age 12, raced her 1st 5K in over a year. She completed the Little Run on the Hill 5K at the Carmel Northview Christian Life XC course in 21:30 (6:55). She was first in the 14 and under age group, and was the 2nd overall female! Ashley was recently diagnosed with asthma, and is back on the road (literally and figuratively!) to her full physical strength and perky self.

Thanks to Mike Ling, Northview, and Saint Louis de Montfort for a well organized, enjoyable event! Hoping everyone had a wonderful experience in your respective events!

Dylan Dale running as a sophomore for Fishers High School took first place in their conference Boys Open Division at Lafayette, with a time of 17:11 (5:31) for the 5K. His next meet will be Sectional, on Tuesday, Oct. 9th.

Logan Rayl got 16th in the state middle school meet. His time was 10:36 (5:41) for the 3k, however he ran a 5:26 first mile here are the results.

Haile Gebrselassie won the Berlin Marathon this weekend in a world record time of 2:04:26! (HT Run to Win)
