Monday my requisite day off. I thought I’d try some push-ups and managed to get 35 out without stopping. I doubt I’ll go for the 100 push up thing again but would like to keep some strength training in. I also used my new Exercise Wheel and did 5 thingys on it. It was $6.99 at Aldi‘s so why not?
Tuesday my lower abs are a little sore! I ran downtown and did 4.25 miles. It was a crisp clear morning for a run with temps at -2 and -12 windchill. I cut it close once on a car coming and got honked at and then a few minutes later but I was clearly not impeding the driver’s forward progress.
Wednesday I woke up tired and feeling a little flu-y. So I opted not to run. I felt terrible all day, so I was glad I didn’t run. I did do 40 push-ups and like 5 things on the ab roller.
Thursday was so warm I almost didn’t know what to wear for the 3 mile run. It was 15 above with the wind chill at 0! I only wore my tights and felt really light and free!! We had gotten a fresh dusting of snow so it was a good run along the Greenway. I carefully did a few pickups on the way back for a 24 minute run.
Friday I had an early morning breakfast meeting so I went for a run later in the afternoon. It was really nice by then so it might have been worth it. I did 7.5 miles on my Minneapolis Riverfront loop. My phone said it was 2 when I left but I think it was warmer and the sun really helped. For the most part the sidewalks were fairly clear. I think running a lot on the rough snow has started taking its toll on my lower legs though. My right calf/ankle have been sore. I ran it in 58:49.
Saturday Another early work commitment made it impossible (or at least not pleasant) to get up and run beforehand and I had to miss the Polar Bear run too. That was disappointing because they were going to a place we don’t run often. So after the work-thing I went for a short run. I started at Parade Stadium and ran on the Cedar Lake Trail into downtown and around Loring Park. Kind of a strange 3.3 mile route, but change is good. It was in the mid-30’s for the 25:50 run. Later in the day I could have worn shorts, but not quite yet!
Sunday I made it to the group run at Minnehaha Falls. We opted for a different route and ran around Lake Nokomis. It was a nice run – a little icy though since we were in the 40’s yesterday. It was about 25 and 13 windchill when we set out. I enjoyed this route and the change of pace that it brought. I felt pretty good too! We ran 6.33 miles in 56:23 so a nice easy pace.

Entitled Week of Garmin I reviewed the following parts of the Garmin: Why I like it, Mapping, various Software that can be used, and its comfort and style. The weekend with a great picture of my Garmin eating my wife’s iPod.
